About the Photographer
I have always been a creative person. From photography, to writing, to art, anything that I can create I love. I've worked my whole life towards a career that allows me to create. Photography is just one piece of that creative puzzle. I wanted to photograph animals for National Geographic when I was younger, and heck maybe I still will! I received a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing in 2018.
I live in Waterville, Maine, but I grew up in the small town of Jackman, Maine (hence why there is no travel fee for Jackman). I love being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, camping, etc. Most of my inspiration came from underneath the sky, with no civilization in sight.
I'm a person full of laughter and anxiety and am guaranteed to make you laugh at any point in time. I'm also extremely clumsy, so we are bound to have a laugh during a shoot!

About the Business
Nova Jarvis Photography started in early 2014 with a shoot with my cousin Audrey. The next few years were filled with new cameras, building a portfolio, and building a small batch of clients.
I started photography when I was young. I snapped photos of squirrels, the sky, trees, rocks, puddles, and anything I could point a camera at, I snapped. I took a photography class in high school and loved watching myself improve. I had a horrible little camera, nothing compared to the expensive ones that my classmates walked in with, but I was determined to prove myself to the class. I tried different angles and was complimented on how I saw the world differently than the others. I've kept that philosophy throughout the years.
2019 was my first year as a business! It still has a long way to go, but each month builds upon the last.
